The board game assesses 4 skill areas
cognitive, sensorimotor, intrapersonal and interpersonal
– in one session.
It is backed up by an assessment booklet with guidelines and tick boxes in three categories.
The results give an immediate, holistic assessment of the patient’s condition and provide the insight to develop an effective, individually-tailored care plan. Carers, family and dementia suffers are able to identify which functions are still in use and take steps to maintain them as long as possible. They are then best placed to find ways to compensate for skills that are diminished or lost.
Crucially, communication and understanding between all parties – patients, families and carers – is improved.
