The board game assesses four skill areas – cognitive, sensorimotor, intrapersonal, and interpersonal – in one session.
It is backed up by an assessment booklet with guidelines and tick boxes in three categories.
The results give an immediate, holistic assessment of the patient’s condition and provide the insights to develop effective, individually-tailored care plans. Carers, family and dementia suffers are able to identify which functions are still in use and take steps to maintain them as long as possible. They are then best placed to find ways to compensate for those that are diminished or lost. Crucially, communication and understanding between all parties – patients, families and carers – is improved.
